Since 2013, Jane has been involved in renovating our town house from top to bottom. Using family heirloom furniture, paintings and area carpets, Jane seamlessly introduced these pieces throughout our home in addition to new pieces that were carefully selected, marrying old with new. Jane transformed our town house into a home rich with memories using these sentimental pieces.

In the kitchen, we collectively worked together to plan and organize every inch to ensure all items had their place. We discussed lifestyle, function and the look we wanted to create a space that was welcoming to guests and provided a subtle dramatic backdrop to prepare our daily meals.

Our ensuite bath is a stunning refuge where we take pleasure in a relaxing soak at the end of a hectic day. The custom vanity accommodates all our daily necessities in addition to storage behind the custom mirrors.

Thank you, Jane, for assisting us through these three major renovation projects. It was a lot of fun taking us on this design journey. We love our cozy space and will continue to enjoy it for many years to come.

Jane is easy to work with as she has innovative ideas, is a great collaborator, and takes time to think through all possible options. Perhaps of greater importance to us, she is always a very caring, patient and kind person. She truly cares about our needs and wants us to not only have a comfortable home, but also a space that we could love for years. We are delighted to have been introduced to Jane and found her very professional, approachable, and a joy to work with.

Our first project with Jane was the reworking of our son’s bedroom.  After speaking with him and discussing his wish list, she went to work designing furniture for his study area, display shelves for trophies and soccer balls, maximizing his closets for storage, in addition to a new colour scheme for his room. The result was vibrant and brought his room to life.

We then transitioned to a much larger project, the kitchen, family room, and mud room.  All areas were meticulously thought through, addressing our daily activities, style of living, and aesthetics. With Jane’s keen eye for colour, attention to detail, perfect selections for lighting, materials, and accessories, she has created visual cohesion throughout our home. The results are stunning and the area is functional, bright, and stylish.

Working with Jane is about synergy.  Jane listens and observes, and with her years of experience, connections, skills, and knowledge, works collaboratively to create a space that is uniquely yours.  With Jane there is no ego, no signature look, no replication of an existing space.  Jane’s super power is her ability to hone in on what the client really wants, and to make it happen with astonishing thoroughness, care, and thoughtfulness.  Jane carries the weight of not only ensuring that aesthetically everything sings, but that all the elements that make a room functional and enjoyable are in place.  Jane is easy to work with, a pleasure to spend time with, and she is fastidious about every detail.

Jane and I started working together to bring our basement from the 1970s to the 21st century.  With no windows in the central room, our family’s love of strong colours, and wanting to reuse furniture from other parts of the house, we had the beginnings of a plan.  But it was the handmade rug that Jane found that set the stage for this room.  Its organic shaped swirls of bright blues, pinks and oranges went beautifully with the existing green sectional that match the honeydew coloured walls.  Jane and I selected a deep pink (my favorite colour) fabric for the custom armchair with a multi-hued back cushion, and had the contractor build a bright orange ladder for the bookshelf.  This room shows off Jane’s ability to work with bright colours and patterns, and to transform a dark room into a light and airy space.

At the end of our renovations I can say sincerely, and with great appreciation, that Jane really listens.
Throughout the two years we worked with Jane, there was such trust and collaboration that what resulted was exactly what we had dreamed of. Jane’s ideas and design expressed our personal style, made our space functional, and give us satisfaction each and every day.

Jane walked us through the many options and backgrounds on furniture, textures, fixtures, and how best to make use of our space:  She suggested a kitchen reconfiguration that resulted in a beautiful and functional pantry that we thought was not possible. The family room now mirrors the outside in the summer months and provides a cozy and inviting retreat during the winter.

The floor suggestions in wood and tile are excellent. I was so appreciative with Jane’s suggestions for the ensuite and how she looked high and low to find the right pieces to reflect my wishes. Jane designed the powder room to accommodate its location, and we still get compliments on the fixtures and wallpaper. There was so much taking place including lighting fixtures, tiles in different rooms, doors, handles, windows, chair coverings and placement of furniture. I am still amazed at how beautiful the final result is and how much we enjoy our newly renovated home.
